My family is weak when it comes to Mexican food. We love it! I have several salsas that I’ve tried to master over the last few years. Fire-roasted salsa is one of them. Here is my current recipe… so grab some chips or some tasty tacos and make yourself some easy fire-roasted salsa!
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of fresh tomatoes
- 1 large onion (white) - Sliced into quarters
- 1 head of cilantro
- 2 jalapenos
- 2 tsp Redmond Real Salt
- 2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp granulated garlic
Instructions
- 1. Place tomatoes, onions and jalapenos on a hot barbecue (any BBQ will work but I recommend charcoal)
- 2. Once the tomatoes, onions and jalapenos are slightly charred on the outside (tomatoes are splitting), remove from the grill.
- 3. Deseed and remove membranes from the jalapenos (leaving them in would be much spicier so it's your choice).
- 4. Put everything including the cilantro, salt, pepper and garlic into a blender and pulse until it reaches your desired consistency.
- 5. Pour into a separate container and place in the refrigerator and let those flavors mix together.
- 6. Grab your favorite tortilla chips and enjoy!
